Senior HR Reporting & Analytics Specialist

Do you want to help accelerate the data-driven evolution of HR at Van Oord? In this role, you transform people data into meaningful insights that support strategic decisions and strengthen our people agenda. As our business operates in a rapidly changing international environment, HR and business leaders increasingly rely on data to anticipate workforce challenges and make informed decisions. From identifying future skills gaps and measuring the impact of wellbeing initiatives to improving workforce planning on our projects, you help the organization move beyond reporting towards predictive, insight-driven HR.

THE POSITION

As Senior HR Reporting & Analytics Specialist, you are responsible for further developing and professionalizing the HR reporting and analytics landscape at Van Oord. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that HR and business leaders have access to reliable, actionable workforce insights while building the roadmap towards a more data-driven organization.

You oversee the complete HR reporting ecosystem, including dashboards, data definitions, governance, and data quality. Working closely with HR Business Partners, HR Technology, Data & Integration teams and business stakeholders, you ensure our reporting solutions meet organizational standards and support strategic decision-making. At the same time, you play an important role in driving adoption by engaging stakeholders, providing guidance and continuously improving reports based on user feedback.

Looking ahead, you will help unlock the full potential of HR data by introducing new technologies, strengthening workforce forecasting capabilities and further embedding data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Your workplace

You will join the HR Data & Reporting team within HR Operations, a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering high-quality HR services and enabling strategic workforce decisions. The team plays a key role in improving employee experience, driving operational excellence and supporting the business with reliable people insights.

In this position, you report to the Head of HR Operations and work closely with HR Business Partners, Centres of Expertise, HR Technology and Data & Integration teams across the organization.

YOUR IMPACT

In this role, you translate complex HR data into clear, actionable insights that help leaders make better workforce decisions. You identify trends, risks and opportunities, develop intuitive dashboards covering topics such as headcount, turnover, diversity and engagement, and continuously improve reporting by introducing new tools and analytical methods.

You also support strategic workforce planning with forward-looking insights, improve data quality and governance across HR systems, and standardize and automate reporting processes to increase efficiency and scalability. By presenting data in a compelling and business-focused way, you enable stakeholders to make informed decisions and strengthen the organization's data maturity.

ABOUT YOU

You are an analytical and curious professional who enjoys solving complex challenges with data. You know how to connect business needs, HR processes and technology, and are comfortable switching between strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You have a genuine interest in digital innovation and continuously look for opportunities to improve reporting, processes and the way data is used across the organization. With your proactive mindset and strong communication skills, you know how to engage stakeholders at different levels and turn insights into action.

You also bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in HR analytics, reporting or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into compelling business insights.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with HR systems such as Workday or SuccessFactors is considered a plus.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
