Management Assistant

Are you a proactive and service-oriented professional who enjoys supporting and enabling teams? This is your opportunity to play a key role within our Operations organization.

THE POSITION

In this role, you will support several managers and their teams within the Foundation Unit, Cable Unit, and Customer Support. Together with your fellow Management Assistant, who supports the Operations Director, you ensure that everything within Operations runs smoothly and efficiently.

You work as a strong team and act as a central point of contact within the organization. You bring structure, maintain oversight, and ensure that managers and teams can fully focus on their core responsibilities.

YOUR IMPACT

You manage complex calendars and the departmental inbox, setting priorities, identifying actions, and maintaining clear oversight. You take minutes during meetings and ensure proper follow-up. You also stay closely connected to the needs of the teams and respond proactively.

Your responsibilities are varied and include organizing meetings, travel, and events, supporting the onboarding of new colleagues, and coordinating leave and workforce planning within the teams. You manage digital environments such as SharePoint and Teams, and support internal communication and information sharing.

In addition, you ensure that practical matters are well organized, such as ordering materials (e.g. PPE), coordinating training sessions and medical checks, and maintaining distribution lists. You have an eye for detail as well as for people, for example by recognizing and celebrating important personal milestones of colleagues.

You identify bottlenecks in processes and actively contribute ideas and improvements to further enhance efficiency and collaboration.

ABOUT YOU

You are an energetic and flexible professional with a strong “can-do” mentality. You easily switch between different tasks and stakeholders and are able to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.

You enjoy supporting others and ensuring that everything runs smoothly, while also knowing how to set clear boundaries when needed. You are available for 24 hours per week, spread across four working days (Monday to Thursday).

In addition, you bring:

  • A completed Management Assistant qualification (minimum MBO level) with relevant work experience
  • Experience in a similar supporting role
  • Fluency in Dutch and English language
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • A proactive, eager-to-learn, and service-oriented mindset

WE OFFER

You will work in an international and dynamic organization where you can truly make an impact on both the business and the people within it.

We offer an attractive benefits package, including:

  • A salary aligned with your experience and responsibilities
  • A generous number of annual leave days and a solid pension scheme
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and a home office allowance (€2.15 per day)
  • A professional and collaborative working environment with an open and supportive culture
  • A variable profit-sharing bonus
  • Ample opportunities for personal and professional development
  • Access to employee communities such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the staff association
  • Participation in various social and sporting events, including winter sports, sailing weekends, cycling events, and motorcycle tours

At Van Oord, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful mission: Building a better world for future generations.
