THE POSITION

As a Flex Staff Specialist, you are responsible for the full end-to-end process of hiring external talent. You manage requests from start to finish and ensure that the right professionals are deployed across our offices, vessels and (inter)national projects.

You interact daily with hiring managers, suppliers and candidates, and you are able to balance speed, quality and compliance. You keep oversight, work accurately, and ensure all administrative processes are executed correctly.

Your workplace

You will join FlexOord, the central staffing desk of Van Oord. The team consists of five other specialists who together are responsible for the deployment of approximately 1,700 flexible workers worldwide.

Within the team, you collaborate closely with colleagues, hiring managers, suppliers and various support departments. You are part of a professional and international environment where collaboration, development and knowledge sharing are key. There is plenty of room to take initiative, contribute ideas and help further professionalise our services.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Flex Staff Specialist, you directly contribute to the success of our global projects. Without the right specialists, projects cannot be executed. You ensure that the business has access to the right expertise at the right time.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full end-to-end hiring process from request to contract; 
  • Selecting and contracting the best professionals for (inter)national projects; 
  • Maintaining contact with hiring managers, suppliers and candidates; 
  • Ensuring accurate and complete system administration; 
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and contributing to more efficient processes; 
  • Supporting the business with appropriate external workforce solutions.

ABOUT YOU

You are a proactive professional who enjoys organising, coordinating between stakeholders and creating structure. You work accurately, maintain overview, and value getting things done properly. You are a strong communicator, easily build relationships, and feel comfortable in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

In addition, you have:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, for example in recruitment, HR, procurement or a coordinating role; 
  • MBO+ or HBO working and thinking level; 
  • Affinity with administration and process-driven work; 
  • Strong communication skills; 
  • A practical and results-oriented mindset; 
  • The ambition to further develop into a specialist in external workforce solutions within a complex, international organisation.
