Project Accountant

Do you want to contribute to marine ingenuity by providing high‑quality financial and administrative support to complex and challenging Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) projects? We are looking for a Project Accountant professional who takes ownership of financial administration and ensures accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting within our SRI activities.

THE POSITION

As Project Accountant SRI, you are part of the Finance team within the Business Unit Offshore Energy (OFE) in Gorinchem and report directly to the SRI Business Controller.

The SRI product group is experiencing strong international growth, supporting a reliable and future proof energy infrastructure for the next generations. Within this dynamic, project‑oriented environment, you play a key role in safeguarding the completeness, quality and reliability of financial and administrative processes across multiple legal entities and vessel administrations worldwide.

You are positioned at the heart of the financial organisation, with clear ownership of administrative processes. Your role combines recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities with ad‑hoc tasks arising from ongoing projects. In addition, you are responsible for the quarterly financial reporting of the SRI vessels.

YOUR IMPACT

In this role, you ensure accurate, complete and timely financial administration. You take ownership of processes and provide reliable financial information that supports strong decision making across projects and vessels.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing weekly vessel progress reports and periodic financial reports, including support for consolidation
  • Allocating vessel related costs to projects and monitoring project financial administrations
  • Booking and reconciling project and intercompany invoices on time
  • Acting as a financial sparring partner for SRI project controllers
  • Improving administrative processes, data quality and supporting digitalisation and automation initiatives


YOUR WORKPLACE

You will work within the OFE Finance & Control team in Gorinchem (approximately 10 professionals) and report to a Senior Business Controller who is financially responsible for the SRI product group.

The Finance & Control team leads regional finance managers and (international) project controllers and plays a key role in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting within the business unit.

ABOUT YOU

You are analytical, accurate and take ownership of your work. You enjoy working with financial data and detailed administrative processes and you stay focused when deadlines approach in a dynamic environment.

You bring:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with a sharp eye for detail
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Affinity with data, BI tools automation and process improvement
  • A completed secondary vocational education in finance accounting business administration or similar, and at least five years of relevant experience, preferably in a complex project environment
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, a pragmatic can do mindset and affinity with the maritime or civil construction industry
