Van Oord delivers complex marine and offshore projects all over the world. Behind these projects sits a large and growing amount of data. Master and reference data such as suppliers, countries, projects and rates are used every day to keep our operations running smoothly.
Within Data & Analytics, the IT Data Governance team is responsible for how this data is defined, structured and improved. As an intern, you support the further development of our Master Data Management processes. You focus on one or more master data domains and help bring structure and consistency to the way data is used across the organisation.
This internship allows you to make a real contribution while learning at the same time. Your work helps improve data quality and supports colleagues in making better decisions. You learn how data is managed in a global organisation and help design improvements that continue after your internship.
After a short introduction, your work includes:
• Mapping and documenting current master and reference data management processes
• Identifying new data sources, systems and involved departments
• Analysing data quality such as duplicates, inconsistencies and missing values
• Supporting updates of business rules, data definitions and workflows
• Working in the MDM/RDM system together with data stewards
You are curious about how data works behind the scenes and you enjoy bringing structure to complex information. You are motivated to learn, not afraid to ask questions and ready to take ownership of your development during this internship.
You recognise yourself in the following:
• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Data Analytics, IT, Business or a related field
• You have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail
• You are interested in data governance, data quality and process improvement
• You enjoy working with different stakeholders and systems
• Basic knowledge of MDM concepts or ERP systems is a plus
