THE POSITION

As a Document Controller within our QHSE department, you act as a key partner in both national and international projects, contributing to our commitment to safety and sustainability. You’ll serve as the central point of contact for all project‑related document control matters, enabling smooth communication between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

YOUR IMPACT

In your role as Document Controller, you act as the central point of contact for counterparts and stakeholders, as well as for the internal project team on all document control matters. You are responsible for overseeing the complete document flow for one or more project packages, ensuring structure, accuracy, and consistency. Additionally, you will coach and guide your team members to maintain high-quality standards across the board.


Tasks and responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains registers (lists) and files documents within our SharePoint-based Document Management System.
  • Processes and manages internal and external documents.
  • Checks documents for compliance and quality.
  • Distributes documents to the correct stakeholders.
  • Handles project correspondence.


Your workplace

The Document Control team consists of 28 enthusiastic colleagues who are collectively setting a new standard for the quality of our work. Together, you will focus on further professionalising and automating our workflows to provide the best possible support to our project and tender teams.

You will report at project level to the Lead Document Controller and the Project Director, and on departmental topics to the Document Control Manager.

Internally, you will collaborate with various disciplines. Externally, you will engage with clients, suppliers, certification authorities, and other stakeholders. No two days are the same — and that variety is exactly what keeps you motivated.

ABOUT YOU

For this position, we are looking for a careful and proactive professional who enjoys working with structured documentation in a dynamic technical environment. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, takes responsibility, and can stay organised in a busy project setting. Your profile:

  • MBO working and thinking level
  • At least 3 years of experience in document control
  • Good command of English and German, both written and spoken
  • Full‑time availability (40 hours per week)
  • Living in the Netherlands, within one hour travelling distance from the Van Oord office in Rotterdam
