THE POSITION

As a 3rd Cutter Skipper within our Dredging department, you work on board our fleet of self propelled and non self-propelled cutter suction dredgers. Together with your crew, you help deliver complex dredging projects around the world. You support the execution of dredging operations and help optimise production on board. Every day, you contribute to the safe and efficient performance of the vessel while working alongside experienced colleagues. You play an active role in keeping operations running smoothly and ensuring the vessel is ready to perform under changing conditions. Your work combines practical seamanship, teamwork and technical awareness. This is how you make an impact every day.

YOUR IMPACT

You are part of a dedicated crew that delivers complex dredging projects around the world. Your contribution helps maintain production, supports safe operations and ensures the vessel performs at its best. Working together is key in this role. You support daily operations both on deck and around the dredging equipment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out daily dredging operations with a focus on productivity and efficiency
  • Participating in maintenance and repair activities on board
  • Performing daily inspections of dredging equipment and related systems
  • Supporting essential deck operations required for project execution
  • Working closely with fellow crew members to achieve shared operational goals

As a 3rd Cutter Skipper, you work closely with the rest of the crew. Teamwork, ownership and a hands on mindset are essential in this role.

ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced maritime professional who takes ownership and puts safety first. You enjoy working in an international environment and feel at home on board a cutter suction dredger. You understand the demands of working at sea, including projects in warm climates. You remain focused under changing conditions and know how important teamwork is for delivering safe and efficient operations. In addition, you bring:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a 3rd Cutter Skipper or 2nd Cutter Skipper on board cutter suction
  • dredgers
  • A good command of the English language
  • A maritime education or technical background such as mechanical engineering, mechanics or welding
  • The ability to work safely and effectively in warm and demanding climates
  • A strong hands on mentality and commitment to safe working practices
