Tender Engineer

Ready to play a key role in winning the offshore wind projects of tomorrow? As Tender Engineer at Van Oord in Gorinchem, you’ll support the Tender Manager and help create high-quality bids for some of the most complex, sustainable offshore energy projects in the world. Your work starts at the heart of the energy transition.

THE POSITION

Our Offshore Wind tenders are multidisciplinary and technically challenging. As Tender Engineer, you are the right hand of the Tender Manager. You help coordinate the tender team, collect input from technical experts and write clear, compelling proposals. You are involved from day one — from kick-off to final submission — and take ownership of tasks that contribute directly to winning projects. In high-level tenders you also step into planner responsibilities, creating strategic outlines that shape the bid.

YOUR IMPACT

In this position you have an important role in bringing in projects for the business unit. On top of this you:

  • Support the Tender Manager with planning, coordination and risk identification
  • Collect input from internal experts and translate this into a strong technical proposal
  • Work with colleagues across disciplines including engineering, cost estimating, planning and operations
  • Step into planner responsibilities when required, drafting high-level planning concepts
  • Deliver proposals that are complete, competitive and convincing — helping Van Oord win work that matters

YOUR WORKPLACE
You will work in the Offshore Wind tender office in Gorinchem. Every tender has its own team, usually made up of a Tender Manager, Tender Engineer, Engineering Manager, Production Engineer, Planner, Cost Estimator and Subsea specialists. You also work with our product lines for cables and pipelines, and collaborate with commercial colleagues. Together you combine technical knowledge with teamwork to make a real difference. Many of our Tender Engineers later grow into project roles, gaining hands-on experience offshore.

ABOUT YOU

You’re open, well-organised and naturally collaborative. You thrive in a dynamic setting where communication, structure and time management are essential.

You also bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field
  • At least 1 year of experience in offshore cables, or comparable experience in a project or tender environment
  • A strong interest in offshore wind and the ambition to grow
  • Excellent communication skills in English — Dutch is a plus, not a must

WE OFFER

You get a role where your coordination and engineering skills help win projects that support the global energy transition

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2.15 per day)
  • 32 leave days a year
  • Variable bonus
  • Pension scheme
  • Collective health insurance (optional)
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz
  • Communities to join, like Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women and the Van Oord staff association
  • Various events and sports activities, such as winter sports, sailing weekends, cycling and a motorcycle tour
