As Tender Engineer within the Productline Capital Dredging you are the right hand of the Tender Manager. You support the full bidding process from kick‑off to submission. You coordinate the tender team, bring together technical experts and manage inputs across disciplines. You help create proposals that reflect our shared expertise and ambition — and contribute to Van Oord’s future.
In this role you will make an immediate difference by:
• Coordinating the tender process with colleagues in engineering, planning and operations
• Writing clear, compelling proposal texts based on technical input
• Supporting planning, risk identification and internal communication
• Taking ownership of key deliverables that shape our bids
• Drawing from your dredging experience to deliver proposals that are complete, competitive and convincing
YOUR WORKPLACE
You will join a skilled and energetic tendering & engineering team in Rotterdam. Our culture is hands‑on, collaborative and built on trust. You will work closely with engineers, planners and other specialists who share your drive to win meaningful work. Every tender is different, and together we aim for the best — supporting projects around the globe.
You enjoy bringing structure to complexity and working with many disciplines. You’re confident coordinating a team, but just as happy diving into the content. You combine technical knowledge with strong communication skills — and understand what it takes to win. On top of this you:
• You have a higher professional or academic degree (HBO/WO) in a relevant technical field
• You bring at least 3 years of experience, preferably in the dredging industry
• You’ve worked on hopper, cutter or reclamation projects and understand how they work
• You write clearly in English, with Dutch as a plus
• You are based in the Netherlands
In this role you help us grow this ambitious product line. You bring purpose into the center of our projects and you recognize the direct impact of your ideas in global tenders and projects.
Additionally, we offer you:
• A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
• Attractive travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home working allowance (€2.45 per day)
• 32 holidays (of which a maximum of 7 are collective)
• Variable bonus
• Attractive pension scheme
• Option for collective health insurance (Van Oord pays for your supplementary package)
• Extensive development opportunities, including a comprehensive online academy via Goodhabitz
• Communities to join, such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the Van Oord staff association
• Various events and sports activities, such as skiing, sailing weekends, cycling, and motorcycling
