Superintendent - Subsea Rock Installation

We are seeking a (junior) Subsea Rock Installation Superintendent which we can train on the job to oversee and manage subsea rock installation projects for offshore and subsea infrastructure. The Superintendent will be trained to be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe installation of rock materials for erosion control, pipeline stabilization, and other subsea construction activities.

The Position

 In the role of Superintendent, you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of offshore subsea rock installation projects, taking account of project-specific requirements. You will work mainly on board of our vessels but sometimes also work from our office in Gorinchem or project locations.

You will be managing the day-to-day operations, supervising the installation crew, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and ensuring that all project goals are met on time and within budget.

About you


You have an Intermediate vocational education, or background Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Subsea Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications and training in offshore operations are a plus. You are interested to develop your career in subsea construction, rock placement techniques, and offshore operations.. You have 0- 2 years of experience in maritime sector, subsea construction or rock installation projects (experience in a supervisory role is a plus).

Your responsibilities


  • Ensuring the correct execution and progress of the work, taking account of specific project requirements and safety
  • Preparation of the operational part of the offshore subsea rock installation
  • Drawing up documents such as method statements, procedures and reports
  • Going through the work instructions and safety requirements with the operational crew
  • Providing coordination and advice in the event of technical problems
  • Acting as a link between project management and the operational crew


Job requirements


  • The ideal candidate has 0 - 2 years' experience in subsea construction or rock installation projects. However, we are also happy to be training you on the job. We hope you have technical, leadership and problem-solving skills. But if your motivation and dedication are there, we believe we can train you on developing those skills.
  • You need to be an excellent communicator and have interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders. Fluency in English is also required (both written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel: you will be traveling and working offshore for extended periods (e.g. 5 weeks on, 5 weeks off)
