As Lifting Supervisor, you are responsible for managing all onshore and offshore lifting operations for foundations and turbine installation. From reviewing lift plans and risk assessments to coordinating crane operations on site, you’ll make sure every lift is prepared and performed safely and efficiently. You’ll collaborate with a team of skilled offshore professionals and support our mission to accelerate the energy transition through innovative offshore wind projects across the globe.
Your expertise ensures that each operation runs safely and seamlessly, protecting both people and assets. You’ll:
• Review and approve lift plans, risk assessments and method statements
• Ensure the correct implementation of installation manuals and procedures
• Support crane-specific calculations such as load capacity and lifting height
• Check and maintain certification of lifting gear
• Lead and coach lifting site personnel such as crane operators
Your confidence, leadership and practical mindset make a tangible difference — every lift you manage contributes directly to the success of our offshore wind projects.
You’ll be part of an international team working both onshore and offshore, spending extended periods on our installation vessels. Depending on the project, you’ll work in rotation schemes within and outside Europe. It’s a dynamic, hands-on environment where teamwork, trust and safety come first.
You are a confident, safety-focused professional who thrives in a challenging offshore environment. You bring technical knowledge, hands-on experience and a collaborative mindset. You enjoy solving problems in real time and leading others by example. You also have:
• Operational experience on board ships as a crane operator or lifting supervisor
• A good command of the English language
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A practical, proactive and solution-driven mindset
• Flexibility to work on board and at project locations worldwide
We offer you a role where you will make a significant contribution to our mission of 'building a better world for future generations'. Additionally, we offer you:
• A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
• Extra allowance when you work on rotation
• 32 holidays (of which a maximum of 7 are collective)
• Variable bonus, partly dependent on company results
• Attractive pension scheme
• Option for collective health insurance (Van Oord pays for your supplementary package)
• Extensive development opportunities, including a comprehensive online academy via Goodhabitz
• Communities to join, such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the Van Oord staff association
• Various events and sports activities, such as skiing, sailing weekends, cycling, and motorcycling
