As a Ships Electrical Engineer at Van Oord, you keep the electrical installations of our modern hopper dredgers safe, reliable and ready for demanding projects worldwide. Working closely with the Chief Engineer and your fellow crew members, you combine technical expertise with hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement.

THE POSITION

  • Sharing your knowledge and continuously developing your expertise in automation, electrical drives and shipboard systems.

ABOUT YOU

You are a hands-on electrical professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and working independently while being part of a close-knit crew. You stay calm under pressure, take responsibility for your work and have a strong focus on safety.

In addition, you have:

  • An MBO or equivalent vocational qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a First Electrician or in a similar electrical engineering role, preferably in the maritime sector or industrial automation.
