In this role, you are the right hand of the Project or Programme Manager and a key contributor to successful execution. You will ensure that our internal projects — often linked to digital transformation and process improvement — run seamlessly and deliver measurable results. You’ll collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT, suppliers and the project management community to create structure, clarity and flow.
Your structure and insight keep our projects on course. You help connect strategy to execution, turning big ideas into operational success. Every improvement you support contributes to a more digital, agile and future-ready Van Oord. You will:
• Implement the right tools and structures to support project quality and efficiency
• Support teams in delivering on time, within scope and budget
• Set up and monitor project plans, milestones, dependencies and risk assessments
• Track deliverables and maintain accurate project documentation
• Analyse resources and capacity, ensuring optimal allocation
You’ll be based at our head office in Rotterdam, surrounded by colleagues who combine technical expertise with a passion for innovation. You’ll work in an open, collaborative environment where digital growth and teamwork go hand in hand. At Van Oord, you’ll find freedom to take ownership and space to learn — every day is an opportunity to make an impact.
You are structured, analytical and people-oriented. You thrive on connecting the dots between planning, process and performance. With a natural sense for coordination and quality, you bring clarity and calm — even in complex situations.
You also have:
• At least 5 years of experience in project support within a project management environment
• Preferably a degree in engineering, finance, business administration or a related field
• Proficiency in Dutch and English
• Certification such as PRINCE2, IPMA D or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of Agile methodologies
We offer you a role where you will make a significant contribution to our mission of 'building a better world for future generations'. Additionally, we offer you:
• A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
• Attractive travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home working allowance (€2.40 per day)
• 32 holidays (of which a maximum of 7 are collective)
• Variable bonus, partly dependent on company results
• Attractive pension scheme
• Option for collective health insurance (Van Oord pays for your supplementary package)
• Extensive development opportunities, including a comprehensive online academy via Goodhabitz
• Communities to join, such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the Van Oord staff association
• Various events and sports activities, such as skiing, sailing weekends, cycling, and motorcycling
