Project Quality Manager

Do you want to contribute to the quality of world-class offshore projects? At Van Oord, we are looking for a Project Quality Manager who will elevate our projects to the highest standards. You will be the driving force behind a strong quality culture and ensure everything is done “First Time Right.” Together with a dedicated team, you will work on challenging projects in the Offshore Wind and Dredging industry. Location: Rotterdam or Gorinchem.

THE POSITION

As Project Quality Manager, you are responsible for all quality-related aspects within your project. You report to the Project Director and are part of the Project Management Team. You are the go-to person for quality matters for the project team, the client, and subcontractors.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the project quality team and coordinating all QA/QC activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with Van Oord Management System, ISO standards, and client requirements.
  • Preparing project QA documents such as PQP, NCR register, and ITPs.
  • Monitoring inspections and audits at subcontractors and project sites.
  • Identifying and following up on non-conformances and punch items.
  • Advising the project team on quality-related issues.
  • Reporting on quality KPIs and driving continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU

As an experienced quality professional, you bring deep industry knowledge and hands‑on expertise in complex offshore projects. You combine strong leadership with clear communication, stakeholder management and the assertiveness needed to safeguard quality in every phase. These strengths translate into the following requirements:

  • Bachelor (HBO) level
  • Proven experience in the offshore,maritime or heavy‑industrial sector, with a strong background in quality management
  • Strong empathy with proactive quality management and “FIRST TIME RIGHT” principle
  • Affinity with welding,coatingand NDT processes
  • Permitted to work in the Netherlands is a requirement just as willingness to travel to several sites in the Netherlands and Europe
  • Assertive, structured and confident in decision‑making and Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel and no 9 to 5 mentality

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and related standards
  • Inspection experience
