As a Project Controller, you are the financial business partner of the Project Manager and project team. You help deliver successful projects by providing clear financial insights and keeping a close eye on performance. Depending on your experience and interests, you will work on projects within Offshore Energy, Subsea Rock Installation (SRI), or Dredging & Infra, Area Netherlands. Each project brings its own financial and commercial challenges. You work closely with colleagues to keep projects financially healthy and support the teams in making the right decisions. This is how you contribute to projects that help build the future. Here is how you make an impact.
You make sure project teams understand their financial position and know where they can improve. You translate figures into clear insights and discuss these with the Project Manager and other stakeholders. You keep track of financial performance and identify risks and opportunities before they affect the project. You also challenge the team when needed and help them find the right solutions. Your contribution gives project teams the confidence to make informed decisions and deliver successful results. Your responsibilities include:
Preparing and analysing project forecasts, budgets and monthly financial reports.
Monitoring project performance, including revenue, margins, cash flow and working capital.
Identifying financial risks and opportunities and supporting the right actions.
Advising project teams on commercial and financial decisions.
Supporting project reviews, management reporting and improvements to financial processes and systems.
Depending on the size and complexity of your projects, you work independently or as part of a larger Project Controls team. You also work closely with Finance Shared Service Centres and Business Control teams.
YOUR WORKLPLACE
You will join one of two Finance & Control teams. The team in Gorinchem supports the Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) projects within Offshore Energy. The team in Rotterdam supports Dredging & Infra projects within Area Netherlands. Both teams consist of around ten colleagues and report to a Senior Business Controller.
You will work with colleagues who understand the importance of reliable financial information and strong teamwork. You have the opportunity to share knowledge, take ownership and contribute to projects with a real impact. Together, you help our project teams make sound financial decisions and achieve their goals.
You enjoy working with numbers and people. You are accurate and curious about what is really happening behind the figures. You communicate clearly with different stakeholders and are confident enough to ask questions and challenge decisions. You take initiative and look for ways to improve how things work. You bring the following experience and skills:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
2 to 8 years of relevant experience in Project Control, Business Control, Financial Control or Project Finance.
Experience with forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis.
Strong analytical skills and a business-oriented mindset.
Good command of English. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
As a Project Controller, you get a valuable combination of financial responsibility and direct involvement in major projects. You have the opportunity to develop your expertise while working with colleagues across the business. We offer you:
