HR Advisor SMD Crew

Do you enjoy partnering with managers and translating people challenges into practical HR solutions? Are you able to balance operational HR activities with tactical HR advice in a dynamic international environment? Join Van Oord as HR Advisor Crew and help strengthen our people agenda for our seafarers and the managers who lead them.

THE POSITION

As HR Advisor Crew, you are the trusted HR partner for managers within our Ship Management Department. You provide professional advice on a broad range of people topics and ensure that HR policies, procedures and employment legislation are applied consistently and effectively.

You support managers throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to performance management and offboarding. Whether advising on absenteeism, employee relations, performance, development or engagement, you help managers make well-informed people decisions while balancing business needs and employee wellbeing.

Working closely with HR Business Partners, HR Operations and the Center of Expertise, you contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, tools and initiatives. You also support organizational changes and help implement the HR strategy and annual people plan within your business area.

Your workplace
You will be part of the SMD HR team supporting our Ship Management Department (Crew). Together with HR colleagues and specialists across HR Operations and the Centers of Expertise, you provide high-quality HR support to an international workforce operating across the globe.

You play an important role in resolving employee relations matters, supporting absence management, performance and talent development, and driving the successful implementation of HR initiatives. Through your collaborative approach and continuous focus on improvement, you help strengthen our HR services and support the successful delivery of our worldwide operations.

ABOUT YOU

You are a proactive and approachable HR professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You know how to build trusted relationships, communicate effectively with different stakeholders and translate HR policies into practical advice. You are well organized, solution-oriented and comfortable balancing operational priorities with longer-term HR objectives.

You also bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent HBO level of working and thinking, preferably in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in a generalist HR Advisory role.
  • Solid knowledge of Dutch employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Experience advising and coaching managers on a broad range of HR topics.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative and customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

WE OFFER
