Communication Advisor

The position

For our Dredging & Infra business unit, we are looking for an experienced communication advisor. In this role, you will develop communication plans, bring a strategic vision, and advise internal stakeholders, suppliers, and partners. At the same time, you thrive on contribute to practical execution. 

All your activities are carefully aligned with the strategic priorities of the business unit and Van Oord’s Corporate Communication team. A role with significant responsibility, yet with the freedom to make it your own.

Your responsibilities

The goal of your role is to support the business unit in the field of communication. You act as a strategic partner and provide proactive advice. Internally, you ensure colleagues are not only well-informed but also inspired and engaged. Externally, you seize every communication opportunity to promote activities and key messages.

  • You create effective communication plans based on input from stakeholders and manage communication projects from start to finish. You proactively advise and contribute to the realization of our communication strategy. Your responsibilities also include:
  • Writing and editing engaging texts and content, tailored to various levels and target groups, and visualiz-ing the intended message;
  • Coordinating the production of suitable communication materials;
  • Regularly aligning the planning of various projects and programs through the communication calendar.

Your workplace:

You fulfil a dual role: as a member of the Corporate Communication team, you work on visibility, en-gagement, and strategic communication projects. At the same time, you support and advise a specific business unit, relieving them of communication challenges and contributing strategically. A role with im-pact, both organization-wide and for the business unit.


Job requirements

  • The ideal candidate is an experienced communication advisor with a background in a corporate or busi-ness-to-business environment and holds a bachelor's degree in communication or a related field.
  • You can quickly switch between activities, target groups, and tools while maintaining an overview. You find energy in both advising and independently executing communication projects.
  • You are enthusiastic, a connector, a team player, and possess a healthy dose of persuasiveness.
  • You are proactive, pragmatic, and results-oriented.
  • You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
