As a Category Manager IT you shape the IT procurement strategy for Van Oord together with fellow Category Managers in this domain. You work with stakeholders from departments such as IT, HR, Finance, SMD and ET&E to understand their needs and translate them into effective procurement solutions. You are part of our central procurement organisation and work with many Category Managers across multiple categories. You bring market knowledge, new ideas and innovation to the organisation. You position yourself as a trusted advisor for the IT category and stay up to date with market developments. Your focus is on creating more value for Van Oord and reducing costs and risks in the supply chain. You do this by:
You are the link between internal stakeholders and strategic IT suppliers. You help Van Oord make well considered choices and get the most from contracts and supplier relationships. You lead procurement processes with a clear focus on value, risk and innovation. You also help stakeholders understand contracts and support successful implementation. By sharing your knowledge with the procurement team you help us work more effectively together. Your impact includes:
• Co developing, aligning, implementing and communicating the IT category plan
• Selecting suppliers and supporting contracting through well organised RFP processes
• Managing strategic IT suppliers and improving their performance
• Advising stakeholders on contracts, commercial matters and procurement risks
• Sharing knowledge and insights with the procurement team to achieve our department goals
You are a commercial professional who connects people, business needs and supplier interests. You communicate clearly and understand the importance of strong relationships with internal stakeholders. You take the lead in negotiations and feel comfortable making decisions. You combine commercial insight with a structured approach and can work well with different interests. You bring the following experience and knowledge:
• A BSc degree, preferably in Business Administration
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in category management
• Experience purchasing IT hardware, software and IT services is an advantage
• Good knowledge of different types of contracts
• Good command of English and/or Dutch, both spoken and written
