Assistant Crewing Officer

As an Assistant Crewing Officer, you play an important role in ensuring our vessels have the right crew at the right time. You support the Crewing Officers with crew planning and coordinate the practical arrangements around crew changes, travel and accommodation. THE POSITION

As a Crewing Support Officer, you ensure that our ships have the right crew at the right time. You support the Crewing Officers in the daily crew planning and are an important point of contact for our crew, the Ship Management and other stakeholders within Fleet Management.

You keep a close eye on the crew planning, and ensure that crew changes are properly prepared and executed. 

In addition, you will arrange the practical and administrative matters surrounding the deployment of our crew, such as travel, transfers, accommodation and documentation.

You work a lot with different systems and ensure that data and administration are correct and up-to-date. Thanks to your service-oriented approach, the crew knows what is expected of them and they can go on board well prepared.

No day is the same. You have to deal with changing schedules, unexpected situations and different interests. That is why you know how to set priorities, keep an overview and switch quickly when the situation requires it.

Your Workplace 

Within the Ship Management Department, the Crewing Team is responsible for the staffing of our ships. Van Oord carries out projects at home and abroad, which means that our vessels and crew are active worldwide.

Our fleet includes trailing suction hopper dredgers, cutter suction dredgers, offshore installation vessels and fallpipe vessels. You will work from our headquarters in Rotterdam in an international team of more than 30 colleagues.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Crewing Support Officer, you will contribute directly to a well-staffed and smoothly running fleet. Through your planning, organization and service, you ensure that crew members are in the right place at the right time and that our ships can carry out their work safely and efficiently.

You:

· Ensures a smooth transition during crew changes, from travel and accommodation to the necessary administration.

· Are an accessible and reliable point of contact for our international crew and other stakeholders.

· Ensures correct and up-to-date information in our systems, so that colleagues can rely on the available data.

· Switches quickly in unexpected situations and knows how to set the right priorities.

· Contributes to a professional and service-oriented service from the Crewing Team.

· Maintains contact with the fleet and visits our ships at home and abroad several times a year

With your commitment, our crew members can focus on their work on board and ensure that the operation can continue worldwide.

ABOUT YOU

You are independent, stress-resistant and proactive. You keep an overview when the schedule changes and know how to quickly set the right priorities. You take responsibility, dare to make decisions and remain service-oriented, even when the pressure increases.

You communicate easily with different people and cultures and find it natural to work together with colleagues, crew and other stakeholders. You are accurate in your administration and have a practical and solution-oriented attitude.

In addition, you have:

· Minimum MBO working and thinking level.

· Good command of the Dutch and English language, both orally and in writing.

· Work experience in a similar position, preferably within a project-based or dynamic environment.

· A place of residence in the vicinity of Rotterdam.

· Good organizational and administrative skills.

· Affinity with the maritime sector is an advantage.
