2nd Officer Cutter Dredger

On board our cutter dredgers we work hard 24/7, and you have a real impact on the success of the project. As 2nd Officer, you operate the dredging installation and coordinate repair work on deck. Your work contributes directly to building the future through complex, global and meaningful dredging projects.

THE POSITION

As 2nd Officer on board one of our cutter dredgers, you are an essential part of the team that keeps operations running safely and efficiently. You support the 1st Officer in all aspects of dredging operations and lead by example on deck. Your responsibilities are diverse and hands-on, requiring technical skill, teamwork and clear communication. This is a role for someone who thrives on the water, enjoys responsibility and wants to grow within an international maritime environment. You will experience the direct results of your work on some of the world’s most impactful projects.

YOUR IMPACT

As 2nd Officer you play a crucial role in the execution of dredging and project operations. You ensure regular maintenance and repairs of the dredging equipment during operations, and you act as Safety Officer on board. You also support the 1st Officer with all operational tasks.

  • Operate the dredging equipment during project operations
  • Prepare, organize and coordinate repairs on deck
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on dredging equipment
  • Enforce safety and environmental regulations during all operations
  • Communicate clearly within the watch about safety, production methods and ship administration (as delegated by the 1st Officer)

  • Experience operating a cutter suction dredger or hopper dredger
  • Endorsement and STCW requirements applicable
  • Willing and able to work internationally for extended periods
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)
