Working Student Human Resources Business

Are you a driven student with a passion for people, processes, and projects? Looking for a part-time role where you can truly make an impact within an innovative and supportive HR team? Then this opportunity at Van Oord might be just what you’re looking for!

THE POSITION

As a working student, you’ll support the HR Business team with a wide range of activities. You’ll work closely with HR Business Partners and HR Managers on projects that improve and streamline our HR processes. No two days are the same, from supporting HR colleagues in preparing workshops, taking the lead on internal improvements, to updating our internal knowledge documentation.

YOUR IMPACT

You'll contribute to the optimization of HR processes and work on topics that truly matter. For example:

  • Preparing materials and organizing sessions for the Workday implementation;
  • Contributing to HR projects such as internal mobility and the Job Structure project;
  • Keeping the internal HR Knowledge Base up to date;
  • Drafting and updating HR policies, templates, and formats;
  • Providing ad-hoc support for process improvements and team activities.

With your fresh perspective and attention to detail, you’ll help us make HR processes more transparent, user-friendly, and effective.

YOUR WORKPLACE

You’ll join a dedicated and professional HR Business team of about 30 colleagues who work with various departments and business units. You’ll receive guidance from an HR Manager and HR Business Partner and collaborate with different team members. The entire HR Business team is there to support you whenever needed.

We believe in hybrid working with a good balance between working from home and being in the office. We’ll make sure you have everything you need to do both, but we’d love to see you regularly at our modern Rotterdam headquarters to connect and collaborate.

ABOUT YOU

  • You are a curious and independent student who takes initiative;
  • You enjoy reaching out to colleagues, have an eye for detail, and like turning ideas into concrete deliverables;
  • You are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in HRM, Work & Organizational Psychology, or Labor Law;
  • You live in the Netherlands;
  • You have a good command of both Dutch and English;
  • You’re available for at least 16 hours per week, for a minimum of 6 months.
