Tender Manager Capital

Are you ready to make your mark on the world of international dredging projects? With your winning mentality, you play a key role in strengthening our strategy and building a tender team that wants to conquer the market. You will remain hands-on involved in developing and executing winning tender strategies and see your work deliver immediate results in challenging projects. Do you dare to take on the challenge? Join us and help build the future of our organisation.

THE POSITION

As Tender Manager Capital, you will play a central role within the Product Line Capital of Van Oord. This division is built on decades of experience in international dredging projects — from waterway deepening and port extensions to land reclamation works. These are essential projects that shape the world of tomorrow. With our rich heritage and proven track record, Van Oord is a key player in the global market. You are responsible for developing your team into the best tender team in the market and ensuring that we submit winning, value-driven proposals.

YOUR IMPACT

You will strengthen Van Oord’s global position by leading tenders that combine technical excellence, commercial insight and teamwork. With your leadership and strategic mindset, you create tenders that not only win projects but also drive innovation and resilience. You inspire your team to think differently, challenge conventions and deliver results that make a lasting impact on our clients and the environment.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Building and developing the best tender team in the market
  • Understanding customer needs and translating them into winning tender strategies
  • Coaching and challenging your team and other departments to develop new and innovative ideas
  • Leading Joint Venture discussions with partners and representing Van Oord’s interests

Your Workplace

The Tendering & Engineering (T&E) department is the technical backbone of our company. We are responsible for successful tendering and engineering across our projects, from the tender phase all the way through to project completion. Working within this department means joining a dynamic group of specialists who collaborate across disciplines, share knowledge openly and work together to deliver the best technical and commercial solutions.

You will be part of the Product Line Capital within T&E. A team with a clear ambition to grow and excel in international capital dredging projects. By cherishing deep technical expertise, we deliver high-quality tenders that add real value. Our tenders are sometimes carried out in collaboration with partners from the industry, creating a professional and collegial environment where innovation, quality and creativity are the keys to success.

ABOUT YOU

You are a strategic thinker and connector who combines technical insight with strong communication skills. You understand complex challenges and translate them into actionable strategies that strengthen the business. You are curious, critical and creative.

You bring:

  • A relevant college or university degree (e.g. Civil Engineering, Business Administration or Communication)
  • Affinity with the civil engineering sector
  • At least 10 years of experience in execution and/or tendering of international dredging projects
  • Strong strategic and communication skills and experience in a similar leadership role
  • Excellent command of the English language, spoken and written

WE OFFER YOU

We offer you a role where you will make a significant contribution to our mission of 'building a better world for future generations'. Additionally, we offer you:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
  • A company car or travel allowance and home office allowance
  • 32 holidays (of which a maximum of 7 are collective)
  • Variable bonus, partly dependent on company results
  • Attractive pension scheme
  • Option for collective health insurance (Van Oord pays for your supplementary package)
  • Extensive development opportunities, including a comprehensive online academy via Goodhabitz
  • Communities to join, such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the Van Oord staff association
  • Various events and sports activities, such as skiing, sailing weekends, cycling, and motorcycling
