Tender Engineer Offshore Energy

Offshore energy is one of the fastest growing energy markets. By building offshore wind farms, Van Oord contributes to the energy transition. This position can be executed in Gorinchem(NL), Hamburg(DE) or Stokesley(UK) depending on where you live.

Your impact

Our Offshore Energy business unit takes on multidisciplinary and complex tenders. Together with the tender team, you will be laying the foundations for successful offshore energy projects as we did for Borssele III & IV, Kriegers Flak, Norther, and Deutsche Bucht. After Van Oord has been prequalified as a contractor for a project, a tender team is put together. You will start the new tender by going through all the project documentation and a tender kick-off with the team headed by the Tender Manager. You will deal with challenging projects and deadlines, so goal-oriented work and excellent communication skills are essential in this role. Next to this, you are also responsible for:

  • Analysing clients requests and development of respective execution strategies;
  • Coordination with relevant departments, such as Engineering, Operations and Ship Management, with the aim of drawing up an accurate and technically feasible production estimate;
  • Organising and managing project-based and content-based tender processes;
  • Actively developing your expertise by keeping informed on the latest developments in the market and identifying possible opportunities for Van Oord.

Not only in Western Europe, but all over the world, wind farms are being considered to make the electricity supply more sustainable. To retain our leading position and keep up with the influx of tenders in the coming years, we are looking for a Tender Engineer for our Offshore Energy business unit.

About youAs a person, you are capable to cope with stress and have the capacity to work methodically, but above all you are a team player with excellent communication skills.  You also bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a technical field;
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in a similar position;
  • Experiences in the offshore energy industry will be of advantage, but not a must;
  • Excellent command of the English language, verbally as well as in writing.

We offer you

We offer you a position in which you will have an important contribution to our mission 'building a better world for future generations'. In addition, we offer you:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2,15 per day);
  • 32 leave days per year;
  • Variable bonus;
  • Pension scheme;
  • Collective health insurance (optional);
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis;
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz;
  • You can join communities, like Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women and the Van Oord staff association;
