Tender Manager

Do you want to broaden your expertise to dredging, coastal, and shoreline works or infrastructure projects? Are you ready to bring the best proposals to the market together with your tender team? Would you like to work as a Tender Manager on projects that are vital for the future of the Netherlands? Then this is the perfect job for you!

THE POSITION

At Van Oord, as a Tender Manager, you are an inspiring leader who makes a difference. You take charge of the tender process for multidisciplinary and complex projects. You are responsible for developing and executing a winning tender strategy, which you turn into a technically feasible proposal that adds value for the client. We are leaders in the two-phase approach and work closely with the client in integrated teams. Your goal is to develop a winning strategy that results in a feasible, valuable proposal that truly supports the client.

With your tender team, you identify and analyse the client's interests and requirements, potential risks, and opportunities. This enables you to recognize the critical elements needed to create the most attractive proposal. Besides leading the team, you are responsible for the overall quality of the tender process and submission. You lead, monitor, develop, and manage tender processes, activities, and resources in line with the tender schedule and standards.

YOUR IMPACT

As a true people manager, you ensure a motivating and positive working atmosphere within a driven and collaborative tender team. You create an environment where team members are challenged and able to bring out the best in themselves. Your goal? A winning EMVI proposal! Additionally, you are responsible for:

  • interactive collaboration with the client;
  • reporting to management;
  • a smooth handover of the project to the execution team;
  • evaluations of tenders for continuous improvement.

YOUR WORKPLACE

Dikes, harbours, coastal and shoreline works, land reclamation, dredging, earthworks, infrastructure, and asset management— as a Tender Manager at Van Oord, you work across a broad range of leading projects. We are at the forefront of our sector in terms of the two-phase approach, sustainability, and zero-emission operations. We invest in the future. The contract types we primarily work with include two-phase, D&C, and performance contracts, with project scopes ranging from 10 to 100 million.

Collaboration is central to our work; you will be part of a group of multiple Tender Managers and Tender Engineers, working in tender teams alongside colleagues from various specializations. The composition and size of the tender teams vary depending on the project’s scale. The atmosphere is open and transparent: we engage easily in discussions, and there is a strong willingness to support each other. New colleagues receive ample support, and we offer an open, transparent work environment. When assigning tenders, we take your preferences, knowledge, and skills into account.

ABOUT YOU

You are a client- and collaboration-focused Tender Manager. You bring extensive knowledge of UAV-GC contracts, the two-phase approach, and conducting dialogue meetings. Your commercial insight is top-notch. You have a results-oriented mindset and a winning mentality. Additionally, you bring:

  • a completed bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field;
  • at least 8 years of experience with tenders, design, preparation, and execution of infrastructure projects;
  • experience in a similar leadership role and/or as a project manager on a D&C project, possibly from a consultancy or contractor background;
  • excellent command of Dutch and a good command of English (given the international Van Oord colleagues in other parts of the organization).

WE OFFER YOU

We offer you a position in which you will have an important contribution to our mission 'building a better world for future generations'. In addition, we offer you:

  • a salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
  • a company car or travel allowance and home office allowance;
  • 32 leave days per year; of which a max. of 7 days can be appointed as collective leave days
