Secretary

You understand what your colleagues need before they do. You plan and arrange with speed and accuracy. And above all, you keep things running – calmly, kindly and with a sense of humour. If that sounds like you, we’d love to welcome you as our new Secretary in the Dredging & Infra department.

YOUR IMPACT

With your sharp eye and forward-thinking mindset, you’ll help ensure our teams can do their best work – even under pressure. Your support enables smooth travel, seamless agendas and clear communication. And because you’re tuned in to what people need, you make a real difference every day.

YOUR WORKPLACE

You’ll join a small, supportive team in Rotterdam, where collaboration and humour are part of the daily routine. We work hard, stay flexible and help each other out. You’ll be the first point of contact for the OPS department and work closely with secretarial colleagues across the business unit. Expect trust, responsibility and space to grow.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage complex agendas for two Operations Directors who are part of the MT
• Handle multiple mailboxes and process all incoming communication
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the team and its managers
• Organise international business travel, including flights, accommodation and visa
• Work with secretarial colleagues across the unit to keep support smooth and smart

ABOUT YOU

• MBO-level thinking and working ability
• 5–7 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a large international company
• Excellent Dutch and English skills – spoken and written
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams and other modern tools
• A flexible, accurate and proactive way of working

WE OFFER YOU

We offer you a position in which you will have an important contribution to our mission 'building a better world for future generations'. In addition, we offer you:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2,40 per day);
  • 32 leave days per year;
  • Variable bonus;
  • Pension scheme;
  • Collective health insurance (optional);
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis;
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz;
  • You can join communities, like Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women and the Van Oord staff association;
  • We organise several (sport) events, e.g. winter sport, weekend of sailing, cycling and a motorcycle tour.
