Resource Manager Dredging & Infra

If you have strong people skills and you are interested in bringing global projects further, this is your job. In this role, you connect people, projects, and purpose. With your expertise, you ensure our professionals perform at their best — wherever they are. At Van Oord, you’ll help shape resilient teams that build the world of tomorrow.

THE POSITION

As a Resource Manager within the Dredging & Infra business unit, you act as the bridge between project needs and talent capabilities. You connect the Business Unit, ongoing projects, and Pool staff to ensure the right people are at the right place at the right time. You balance operational priorities with a people-first mindset, using your experience to make decisions that reflect Van Oord’s values and long-term vision.

You maintain a full overview of all skills and competencies within your pool and across Operations, ensuring that every staffing choice supports project excellence and growth. You are the conversational partner for your pool when it comes to development, issues and other important topics.

YOUR IMPACT

You play a central role in shaping the performance and development of your colleagues. By providing coaching, insight and support, you help professionals grow — and projects thrive. You contribute directly to our mission of building a better world for future generations.

You will:

• Identify training needs and initiate tailored development programmes based on data and feedback
• Provide personal coaching and guidance for individual colleagues
• Build a strong network within the Project Office and Business Units to drive collaboration and results
• Demonstrate ownership in managing your pool and support fellow Pool Managers where needed

YOUR WORKPLACE

You will be part of the Project Office team in Rotterdam, working in a dynamic and international environment. Collaboration and trust are key — you’ll work closely with colleagues from Operations, HR and project teams around the globe. Expect variety, responsibility and the freedom to make meaningful impact. You’ll also visit project sites regularly to stay connected to the teams you support.

ABOUT YOU

You bring a unique mix of technical knowledge, leadership and empathy. You know what it takes to make projects succeed — and people flourish. With your helicopter view and ability to connect, you turn complexity into clarity.

You have:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical or management discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in a project-based environment or a people-oriented position
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Dutch and English
• A proactive and confident attitude, with the ability to influence and advise at different levels
• A natural talent for coaching, motivating and developing others

WE OFFER

We offer you a role where you will make a significant contribution to our mission of 'building a better world for future generations'. Additionally, we offer you:

• A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
• Attractive travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home working allowance (€2.45 per day)
• 32 holidays (of which a maximum of 7 are collective)
• Variable bonus, partly dependent on company results
• Attractive pension scheme
• Option for collective health insurance (Van Oord pays for your supplementary package)
• Extensive development opportunities, including a comprehensive online academy via Goodhabitz
• Communities to join, such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the Van Oord staff association
• Various events and sports activities, such as skiing, sailing weekends, cycling, and motorcycling
