QHSE Systems Internship

THE POSITION

As an Intern QHSE Systems, you will join the team responsible for maintaining and improving Van Oord's Management System (VOMS). VOMS connects business processes across the organisation and provides the foundation for consistent, safe and efficient ways of working worldwide.

During your internship, you will support the development, improvement and visualisation of business processes across different departments and business units. You will work closely with process owners and subject matter experts to ensure that processes are clearly defined, up-to-date and aligned with organisational objectives.

In addition, you will explore how digital technologies, Business Intelligence and AI can support process management and improve the accessibility and effectiveness of our management system.

YOUR IMPACT

During your internship, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of Van Oord's Management System and help strengthen process management throughout the organisation.

You will:

  • Support the modelling, documentation and optimisation of business processes within VOMS.
  • Collaborate with process owners to analyse, update and improve process descriptions and workflows.
  • Translate complex operational activities into clear and structured process models.
  • Analyse process and management system data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop dashboards and applications using Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate to support process performance and decision-making.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve the usability, quality and effectiveness of VOMS.
  • Explore opportunities to apply AI and other emerging technologies to process management and management system development.


YOUR WORKPLACE

You will work from our head office in Rotterdam, with a view over the Maas. You will become part of a close-knit team of around six colleagues who support and challenge each other. The atmosphere is open and collaborative, with plenty of room to learn and grow.

The QHSE Systems team is responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving Van Oord's Management System (VOMS). VOMS connects business processes, governance, risks and operational practices across the organisation, enabling teams worldwide to work in a consistent and effective way.

As part of the team, you will gain hands-on experience in process management, process modelling and digital transformation, while contributing to the further development of a management system that supports Van Oord's global operations.

ABOUT YOU

You are interested in how organisations work and enjoy analysing and improving processes. You are structured, analytical and able to translate information into clear and practical solutions. For this internship you bring: 

  • Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Business Administration, Process Management, Information Management or a related field.
  • Are looking for a third-year internship.
  • Are available from the beginning of February 2027 for a period of five months.
  • Have an affinity with process management, continuous improvement and digitalisation.
  • Have experience with, or a strong interest in, Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Communicate confidently in both Dutch and English.
