QHSE Marine Coordinator

THE POSITION

 

As a QHSE Marine Officer, you will be part of a dedicated team of six professionals and work together or independently on various QHSE-related matters. You will have an advisory role towards our vessels and collaborate closely with the Ship Management Department. You act as a knowledge partner and assist in implementing laws, regulations, and company policies. Additionally, you will be responsible for audit planning, conducting the internal audits and coordinating external audits

Although you will be working from our main office, Your role involves travelling from time to time to our vessels in the Netherlands and also worldwide, on projects and in ports. 

YOUR IMPACT

  • Acting as point of contact for nautical and ship related HSE issues
  • Facilitating risk assessments and identifying safety risks.
  • Conducting maritime security assessments; analyzing and providing advice.
  • Advising vessels and the Ship Management Department on QHSE-related issues.
  • Assist the fleet with compliance,  laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Planning and conducting internal audits on the fleet.
  • Guiding and supporting external audits and inspections (OVID, CMID, Suitability Surveys) on board our vessels.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions to optimize QHSE performance.
  • Assist with incident investigation, desktop based or taking part in on-site investigations.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of safety and environmental procedures within the organization.

As QHSE Marine Officer you will be part of the QHSE department, located in Rotterdam. On a normal workday you start your day in the office, work independently on your own portfolio or you will be working on a joint assignment together with other team members. Above you there is a team lead that will guide you in your daily job. The QHSE Marine team reports to the DPA/ CSO.

ABOUT YOU

In the role of QHSE Marine Officer you are open to travel for work. Furthermore you have:  

  • A relevant education (e.g., Maritime Technology, Safety Engineering, or a comparable study)
  • At least a few years of work experience as a seafarer or a QHSE role within the maritime or offshore sector, 
  • Knowledge of maritime laws and regulations and experience with audits is a pre
  • A proactive and independent work attitude, combined with strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact at various levels.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English.
  • In possession of your own private car is a pre
