In the role of Project Engineer / Estimator, you are responsible for performing preparatory tasks and cost estimations for tenders related to the activities of Van Oord Grondstoffen B.V. You support and participate in tender teams by providing advice on the logistical possibilities concerning the extraction, waterborne transport, and transshipment of raw materials. Through field explorations and supervision of our existing sand pit operations and unloading at storage sites, you will gain extensive knowledge and affinity with the work of Van Oord Grondstoffen B.V. The combination of theoretical and practical knowledge strengthens the quality of your advice.
You support Tender, Engineering, and/or Project Managers in delivering high-quality documentation and reporting. You work closely with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring proper technical coordination in line with Van Oord’s standardized working methods and within the defined project scope.
In addition, you are responsible for:
Estimating and preparing the complete logistics chain, including transport and transshipment;
Advising on cost-efficient methods for loading, transportation, and unloading;
Advising on procurement and sales strategies for tenders, projects, and trade, with a focus on logistical opportunities;
Performing post-calculations of transport operations;
Coordinating with regulatory authorities regarding various sand pits and storage locations;
Visiting Van Oord project sites (within Europe).

We are a close-knit team made up of both knowledge experts and hands-on professionals. The team consists of approximately 8 internal FTEs and 75 external FTEs.
