The position

Within our Finance and Control department resides the Global Financial Shared Service Center (GFSSC). The primary aim of our GFSSC is to provide efficient and consistent centralized accounting and payroll services to projects, Business Units, and staff departments within Van Oord. The GFSSC comprises five sub-teams, with the majority focusing on accounting tasks. These sub-teams operate in both Rotterdam and Dubai. 


Your impact 

As an Order to Cash employee you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and processing our intercompany cost allocation, debtor invoicing and bank & cash management. You will be in contact with project controllers all over the world to provide excellent support. At the same time, you will be working on improvements and utilized technology to optimized processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Intercompany accounting like intercompany charging and intercompany reconciliation; 
  • Debtor invoicing; 
  • Bank statements processing and Treasury accounting activities;
  • Processing of cash transactions;
  • Analysing and improving processes and data;
  • Support internal and external audit requests;
  • Continuously striving for excellent service and over delivering towards customers.


Your workplace

Based at our head office in Rotterdam, you’ll enjoy a scenic view of the Maas and have access to an in-office gym to start or end your day. While we support flexible working, we encourage you to be present in the office to fully engage with your team. The GFSSC, composed of 68 people from 13 different nationalities, offers a supportive environment with a dedicated buddy system to help you settle in. As the GFSSC continues to expand, your contributions will be key to our ongoing growth.


About you

You work accurately, flexibly and have a highly developed analytical and problem-solving ability. You see the importance of qualitative data for decision-making (data drive) and do not shy away from a good discussion. You also like to work together with others, can deliver the right quality that meets the needs of the (internal customer) and you like to work on process improvements.

Furthermore, you have:

  • at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position;
  • at least a completed MBO+ education in a financial-economic specialisation;
  • an excellent command of the Dutch and English language;
  • Proficient Lean Management practitioner or willingly to learn.
