Project Controller

THE POSITION

As project controller you are responsible for setting up, implementing and managing the Finance and Control of projects, on site and/or in the office. Thanks to you, there is reliable cash management, the project administration can stand any test of internal/external audits meticulously, thorough and timely periodic financial reports are prepared, discussed and published. Moreover, the Project Manager and the rest of the team can turn to you with their questions, whereby solicited and un-solicited advise is desired. In other words, you have an important role in a wide variety of projects. Every day you can count on the various (operational) challenges and your knowledge and ingenuity will be called upon.


YOUR IMPACT

Your focus is on managing, controlling and reporting of the (financial) progress of the project. The responsibilities that come with this are:

  • Act as financial business/sparring partner of the project managers and Business Unit
  • Provide financial and management reports;
  • Understand and optimize end-to-end business processes
  • Monitor and report on project progress;
  • Manage accounting through the Financial Shared Service Center;
  • Performing solicited and unsolicited ad-hoc analyses and reviews; 
  • Liquidity management, preparing cash flow forecasts, managing foreign exchange risks, commodities; and manage internal and external audits on the projects;
  • Site office management and other non-reporting management/operational tasks.

ABOUT YOU

Furthermore, you bring:

  • A completed BSc degree in business economics, business administration or similar;
  • 5 to 8 years of working experience within a project environment as a project controller;
  • Affinity with the maritime and/or civil sector
  • Construction Industry knowledge is preferable;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages;
  • Strong communication and social skills;
  • Flexible, results-oriented, independent, driven and hands on mentality;
  • You are willing to work abroad and be away from home for longer periods of time.
