The position

As a Purchaser, you will be responsible for the operational procurement of goods and fulfilment of orders for our fleet. You will work closely with the vessel technical superintendent and crew. In this role you will report to the Team Lead purchasing.

Your impact

As purchaser you are responsible for: 

  • Procuring consumables, MRO (technical spare parts and services) for the vessels assigned to you;
  • Using contract suppliers to buy parts;
  • Following up on order confirmations for all orders placed and the agreed delivery dates;
  • Taking action in the event of incorrect deliveries or damaged or defective deliveries, etc.;
  • Expediting RFQ’s, orders and overdue deliveries;
  • Follow up on invoicing of delivered goods.

YOUR WORKPLACE

You will work in a pleasant surrounding with 8 college's in our HQ in Rotterdam. Your colleagues are from different countries. 
You are in contact with crew of vessels and technical superintendents who work with those vessels. Besides this you are in direct contact with different suppliers.

About you

We are looking for a stress-resistant person who wants to act as initiator and point of contact for operational projects. To be successful in this role you need to have a service-oriented mentality and you have to take ownership. 

In addition, you have:

  • A completed MBO education and/or thinking on the same level;
  • At least 3 years of experience as purchaser, preferably within a technical/maritime environment;
  • Good command of spoken and written in English.
