The position

As an employer branding specialist, you are responsible for devising and executing internal and external labor market campaigns. You will be dedicated to making Van Oord a true 'employer of choice', particularly for our key target audiences. This includes developing and implementing a social media strategy. Additionally, a website is never complete: you will interview colleagues for new content, sometimes visiting projects or ships. You will support our recruiters with all their questions regarding employer branding and recruitment marketing, thereby strengthening our employer brand from within.

Your responsibilities

In summary, your responsibilities include:

  • Creating and coordinating content for our target audiences;
  • Designing, developing and optimizing our recruitment marketing efforts;
  • Creating, translating or editing copy for our career page;
  • Collaborating with our creative agency (Clubgeist) and website builder (Floyd & Hamilton) to further develop our employer brand and communication;
  • Working with MrWork for marketing campaigns;
  • Conducting market research and adjusting our tactics as needed.

You will be joining our Global Talent Acquisition Team, where you will work closely with the Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding Project Manager. Naturally, you will be in daily contact with our recruiters and various departments, with Corporate Communication being an important stakeholder.

The Global TA team consists of more than 30 (international) colleagues. In your role, you will be based at our headquarters in Rotterdam, overlooking the Van Brienenoord Bridge and the Maas River. You can also work from home; we aim for a 60/40 split between office and home working. Occasionally, you may visit our office in Gorinchem or a project location. At the office, we have a great lunch, a fitness center, and a lovely coffee lounge.

You strive for top quality, the best videos, and an up-to-date career page. We've come a long way, but you'll take us from 80 to 100 percent. Van Oord is a project organization, which means you'll sometimes need to act quickly and take initiative to build our employer brand with great ideas. You speak the language of our target groups and inspire everyone about working at Van Oord.

Job requirements

Additionally, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in HR, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent level of education;
  • Minimum of 5 years of recruitment experience and 3 years of employer branding experience;
  • Strong written and verbal skills in Dutch and English (the working language at Van Oord.
