THE POSITION

For our R&D Offshore Engineering department, we are looking for an enthusiastic and curious graduate student to research the technical feasibility of plowing with a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD). In this assignment, you will explore an innovative concept that could significantly improve the efficient installation of cable routes for offshore wind farms.

YOUR WORKPLACE

You will join the Engineering & Estimating Production team. This R&D team focuses on Offshore Energy equipment, with a strong emphasis on project support, new construction, and innovation.

We offer an inspiring and professional environment where you will be guided by experienced colleagues, while also having the freedom to work independently on your project. Of course, we will provide you with the necessary facilities, software, and access to relevant literature and tools.

ABOUT YOU

  • You are pursuing an WO degree in Maritime Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field
  • You have an interest in offshore technology, soil mechanics, and theoretical modeling
  • You are analytical, independent, and proactive
  • Experience with modeling tools (such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, or FEM software) is a plus
  • You have strong communication skills and are fluent in Dutch and English

WE OFFER

You will work partly from our headquarters in Rotterdam and our office in Gorinchem. You can start or end your workday in our in-house gym. While remote work is possible, we encourage you to be at the office as much as possible!
