Experienced Employer Branding Specialist

As an employer branding specialist at Van Oord, you will work with our brand-new global employer brand. You ensure that we are recognized by our target audiences as an attractive employer, dedicated to building a resilient world.

The position

As an experienced Employer Branding Specialist, you are the driving force behind our positioning as an employer. You take the lead in monitoring and further developing our recently updated Employer Brand Identity (EBI) and Employee Value Proposition (EVP). This means that you are responsible for shaping and adjusting our employer branding initiatives to ensure that we remain top of mind among the most important target groups. Are there new developments emerging or is approval required for a new course? Then you are the one who presents these initiatives internally with verve.

You not only have a vision of our positioning as an employer, but you are also practical and not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You develop and implement impactful campaigns and ensure that they are continuously tested and optimized based on data. You also develop and implement the social media strategy, in collaboration with MrWork. In addition, you work with agencies such as Clubgeist to create the right content and are closely involved in operational implementation - from briefing to supervising shoots. You also have control over our career page and, in collaboration with Floyd & Hamilton, ensure that it is always up-to-date and appeals to the target groups. This way you ensure that all communications fit seamlessly with our Van Oord core values and target groups.

Finally, you will of course support our recruiters with their questions regarding employer branding (EB) and recruitment marketing (RM). This way you strengthen our employer brand, from within.

Your responsibilities

In summary, your responsibilities include:

  • You monitor and strengthen our EBI and EVP and make adjustments where necessary, in order to strengthen and safeguard our positioning as an employer;
  • You develop data-driven employer branding and recruitment campaigns that you implement and optimize together with external partners;
  • You coordinate and/or create content for various channels yourself, ensuring that it meets the needs of our target groups;
  • You work closely with various internal stakeholders such as Corporate Communications, HR and external agencies, and ensure a consistent brand image;
  • You are in control of our career page and ensure that it is continuously up to date and attractive.
  • You create, translate or edit the copy for our career page;
  • You conduct market research, analyze trends and use these insights to make tactical adjustments.

You will work in our Global Talent Acquisition (TA) Team, where you will work closely with the Project Manager TA & EB. Of course you are also in daily contact with our recruiters and various departments. Corporate Communication is an important stakeholder.

More than 30 (international) colleagues work in the Global TA team. In your role you will work from our head office in Rotterdam, with a view of the Van Brienenoord Bridge and the Maas. You can of course work from home, we try to divide this 60/40. Sometimes you visit our office in Gorinchem or a project location. At the office we have a great lunch, a gym and a lovely coffee lounge.

Job requirements

Additionally, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as HR, Marketing, Communications, or an equivalent working and thinking level;
  • You have at least 7 years of experience in employer branding and (recruitment) marketing, with a proven track record in independently developing and implementing campaigns;
  • You are strong in writing and oral communication in both Dutch and English;
  • You are a real storyteller who can translate our identity into inspiring and attractive content.

We offer

Our mission: Building a better world for future generations. That's where you come in. We are a global organization undertaking leading projects that can even change Google Maps. You'll work in a collegial team where we prioritize quality and camaraderie. All great, but you can also count on excellent employment conditions:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2,15 per day);
  • 32 leave days per year;
  • Variable bonus;
  • Pension scheme;
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis;
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities.
