THE POSITION

As Crew Training Officer you play an essential role in giving advice both to our crewing colleagues as well as to our seafarers when it comes to the legal and Van Oord requirements. This may concern the process for the certificates of competence, recognitions from various flag states such as the Dutch, Cyprus, Panama, Belize and the Bahamas as well as Dynamic Positioning letters and service booklets for inland navigation.

  • You coordinate the onboarding Introduction Days for new-hires (crew);
  • You facilitate STCW training for seafarers and ensure that the certification path of the sea-farers is always up-to-date, so that seafarers can enroll for the relevant course;
  • You coordinate, schedule, book and manage training courses for crew in close cooperation with the crew officers, where applicable.
  • Working closely with Van Oord Academy for the successful training booking management;
  • Assisting with the applications (whenever necessary) for the seaman's books for seafarers or colleagues who will work onboard of one of our ships.
