Corporate FP&A Work student

As a Corporate FP&A Working Student you will support strategic planning, performance analysis, and digital innovation across our global organisation. You will not just observe, you will actively contribute and take ownership in a dynamic finance environment.

THE POSITION

Within Group Finance, the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team supports the Executive Board and senior management with insights that guide Van Oord as a group. From forecasting and budgeting to investment and risk analysis, FP&A plays a key role in shaping our financial future. As a Working Student you will work closely with the Controllers and FP&A specialists, supporting planning cycles, management reporting and digital transformation initiatives. You will collaborate intensively with colleagues from Dredging and Offshore Energy, as well as consultants and risk officers, giving you a broad view of the business.

YOUR IMPACT

You will be a hands on member of a small and highly involved team of three, working closely with around ten stakeholders across the organisation. Your contribution directly supports decision making at group level. You will:
 • Assist in long term planning and annual budgeting, including data collection, validation and analysis
 • Support management reporting by preparing dashboards and financial insights for senior leadership
 • Contribute to workforce cost planning, scenario modelling and risk management activities
 • Perform ad hoc financial analyses on investments, markets and strategic projects
 • Help improve data quality, automation and analytics using tools such as Excel and Power BI

ABOUT YOU

You are a Bachelor or Master student with a background in Finance, Accounting or a related field. You are eager to develop yourself in corporate finance and data analytics and you feel comfortable working with numbers and systems. You also bring:
 • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
 • Excellent Excel skills, this is a must
 • Interest in data analytics, digital tools and AI
 • Flexibility and resilience to operate in a dynamic and sometimes chaotic environment
 • Independence, ownership and a proactive mindset
 • Strong communication skills in English

You are available for at least 16 hours per week, preferably 24-32 hours, with the possibility of a one-year contract.
