THE POSITION

As a 2nd Engineer MPI Jack Ups, you will be a key player in the maintenance and operation of our cutting-edge jack-up vessels. These vessels are integral to our offshore wind farm installations, dredging, and other marine projects. You will ensure the technical equipment and systems on board are in optimal working condition, allowing the team to carry out their tasks efficiently and safely.

YOUR IMPACT

As a 2nd Engineer MPI Jack Ups, you are responsible for preparing, planning, and executing specific maintenance projects. And above all responsible for the jacking operation. This includes:

  • Operate and maintain the engine room and ships technical installation in a safe, maritime correct and environmentally responsible manner. In accordance with the Van Oord management system (maintenance of equipment) and in consultation with the Chief Engineer.
  • Lead the charge in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing systems. Especially the jacking operation. From pumps to nozzles, you will ensure everything is running at peak performance.
  • Champion the safety of your team and the environment by adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory standards, ensuring that operations are always carried out safely and responsibly. 
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Chief Engineer, First Engineer, and your crew to make sure every aspect of the operation runs like a well-oiled machine.
  • Keep track of all operational data, provide insightful reports on equipment performance, and assist in identifying and solving any issues that arise.

ABOUT YOU

You have a background in the maritime sector and are independent, stress-resistant, and flexible. Additionally, you have a good command of the English language and possess the necessary documents to work within the EU. Furthermore:

  • In possession of a valid COC 2nd Engineer, all underlying certificates.
  • Experienced with jacking operations on jack-up vessels is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a single engineer, with a passion for technology, automation and innovation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and support your colleagues.
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
