THE POSITION

You’ll be controlling vessels that are far out at sea from our dedicated, land based Remote Control Room. This is your chance to contribute to innovative projects and advance your career using our Marine Ingenuity.

YOUR IMPACT

In the role of USV Pilot, you will be operating our newest seagoing USV's. You will be one of the company’s specialists in remote maritime operations and contribute to developing our solutions and software as well as our procedures and qualifications for such operations. While on duty, you are responsible for the safe operation, navigation and look out/watch keeping.  You will collaborate within the teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Your gained experience and knowledge will be a valuable asset for the further development of our USV fleet.

  • In charge of daily USV operation;
  • Close cooperations with engineering team;
  • Work with latest technologies;

YOUR WORKPLACE

The work is done both at the client's preferred location and via remote connection from the Van Oord Remote Operation Center in our head office in Rotterdam. The role requires that you enjoy (international) traveling and have the willingness to perform shift work when required by the project.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is curious by nature and has a strong interest in technology. Ideal candidates have experience in sailing vessels or in remote operations and possess strong technical knowledge, and thrive in fast-paced environments.

You should be a problem solver with a solution-oriented mindset and have good written and verbal communication skills in English. WE OFFER

We offer you a position where you will make a significant contribution to our mission 'building a better world for future generations'. In addition, we offer you:
