YOUR IMPACT

You will be involved in the development of mechanical engineering equipment for our work in the dredging and offshore wind industry. Thanks to your efforts, Van Oord's projects are carried out as effectively and productively as possible. You see your designs become reality. This means that you are involved in the process from A to Z. You will be guided by our specialist in the field of designing our dredging equipment.

Your primary focus is the mechanical engineering product development of the trailing heads for our trailing suction hopper dredgers. In addition, you will deal with various other equipment that is required. Your duties are;

  • Develop ideas and wishes of the internal customer and translate them into a 2D or 3D design;
  • Devising solutions for modifications to existing equipment;
  • Translating 3D models into 2D drawings for design and purchasing to final manufacturing drawings;
  • Keeping the information and structure in the 3D system up-to-date;
  • Consultation with projects, production, purchasing and technical inspectors about the technical specification and the realization of the products.


Your Workplace

The team you will be working in, is a small team within the Technology department. This team consists of 4 other colleagues and a team manager. The department is part of the Ship Management Department within Van Oord.

ABOUT YOU

Do you have a strong quality awareness regarding the execution of drawing work and data management? Do you also comply with the following? Then apply!

  • You have at least MBO or HBO mechanical engineering working and thinking level;
  • You have demonstrable work experience with 2D AutoCAD and a 3D package (preferably Inventor or Solid Edge);
  • You can draw effectively, level of detail depending on the application;
  • You can balance following procedures with sufficient initiative;
  • You master the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
