THE POSITION

For the Ship Management Department (SMD), we are looking for a Reporting & Control Officer to strengthen our Finance & Control team of SMD. The position is based in Rotterdam. 

SMD is responsible for managing all Van Oord equipment including its crew, consisting of approx. 70 main production vessels, a large number of auxiliary equipment and approximately 2000 crew. Moreover, SMD is responsible for an extensive fleet newbuilding program and managing 3 worldwide yards. We are responsible for all financial and reporting related issues in close co-operation with the Business Units Dredging & Infra and Offshore Energy and with the Corporate Finance & Control team.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide valuable insight for our Ship Management Department (SMD) and challenge them at the same time. You will drive strategy and support operational and data-driven decision-making and to ensure compliance and effective controls in an international setting focused on our large projects.


YOUR IMPACT

You, together with the other team members, advise SMD management on all financial aspects including opportunities and risks (e.g., finance, cash flow, budgets).

Your responsibilities are: 

  • Consolidate SMD management and financial reports (incl. adjusting entries, reviews, performance of checks and balances), for actuals, forecasts and plan;  
  • Periodic reporting to Operational Business Units of equipment related data;
  • Periodic consolidation of all equipment related (financial) data in consolidation software Onestream;
  • Non-financial reporting, such as carbon footprint and other CSRD and ESG requirements for SMD;
  • Involvement in implementation of ERP and EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) software;
  • Control on and development of SMD Dashboards (in Power BI) to enhance future data-driven decision making.

You will report to the Manager Business Control of SMD.

  • Relevant experience in a project environment is a preference
  • Fluent in English, verbal as well as written
