Production Engineer Transport & Installation

Do you want to devise and develop technologically complex Offshore Wind projects? Do you want to contribute to sustainability? We are looking for a Production Engineer Offshore Wind (Transport & Installation). As Van Oord, we work to create a better world for future generations by delivering Marine Ingenuity.

THE POSITION

Van Oord is an internationally active company focusing on dredging and offshore wind power. The company is family-owned, headquartered in Rotterdam (Netherlands) and employs 5,300 people worldwide. Offshore wind is one of the fastest growing markets for green energy. Not only in Western Europe, but also elsewhere in the world, wind farms are being considered to make electricity supply more sustainable. By building offshore wind farms, Van Oord is contributing to the energy transition. To maintain our leading position and keep up with the influx of projects in the coming years, we are looking for a Production Engineer Offshore Wind (Transport & Installation) for our Offshore Wind division in Rotterdam, Gorinchem, Hamburg or Stokesley.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Production Engineer, you will make a name for yourself by acting as the single point of contact for production, bridging the gap between tendering and execution. To this end, you are a good communicator and bring first-hand offshore wind experience.

So you can drive both our RFPs and our projects forward by

  • Create accurate production estimates and competitive logistics concepts. This is based on a solid understanding of installation methods and equipment, which you have ideally acquired through first-hand project experience.
  • Insights into project risks through weather and logistics simulations and advice on tenders and projects.
  • Actively participate in the development of our simulation tools and ongoing data integration.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments such as engineering, operations and ship management, risk and planning to find the optimal solution.
  • You ensure the continuous improvement of Van Oord and provide assistance in the execution of our projects. Through regular ship visits you gather feedback and experience and gain practical knowledge.

Your workplace
So, who will you work together with? You will work within the production engineer team. The production team has +/- 50 passionate colleagues driven by the main assets required to successfully complete the project or win a tender. We believe in combining knowledge and expertise to help get the best out of each other.

ABOUT YOU

As a person, you are able to take on challenges and find solutions, but most importantly, you are a team player with excellent communication skills.
You'll also bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in a technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with in-depth knowledge of offshore wind component installation and transportation.
  • Practical offshore experience is a plus.
  • Strong affinity for data analysis and simulation. Experience with logistics and weather simulation software is a plus.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to visit our execution projects around the world several times a year.

WE OFFER YOU

We offer you a position in which you will have an important contribution to our mission 'building a better world for future generations'. In addition, we offer you:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2,15 per day);
  • 32 leave days per year;
  • Variable bonus;
  • Pension scheme;
  • Collective health insurance (optional);
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis;
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz;
  • You can join communities, like Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women and the Van Oord staff association;
  • We organise several (sport) events, e.g. winter sport, weekend of sailing, cycling and a motorcycle tour.
