THE POSITION
As a Microsoft 365 Consultant, you will be at the forefront of our digital transformation efforts. You will work closely with diverse business and IT teams to implement and optimize Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring our business processes are efficient and providing a collaboration and productivity platform that supports employees in performing their work effectively, regardless of their location.
You continuously monitor the Van Oord Microsoft adoption/ maturity score, lead and implement change management strategies that focus on maximizing the adoption of Microsoft 365 tools across different business units, ensuring that new tools and updates are seamlessly integrated into day-to-day workflows.
To improve the adoption score you inspire and educate colleagues about the possibilities of Microsoft 365, focusing on Exchange Online, Intune, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot. Furthermore, you will assist business colleagues from the initial stages of their transition to the Cloud and/or modern workplace and also design the Microsoft 365 way of work at Van Oord to be more effective in your goals. You will setup competence centers in which activities on various Microsoft topics are being discussed with your peers.
You help identify and advise on company improvements related to Microsoft 365, to optimize performance and manage costs, ensuring that the company maximizes value from its investment in our enterprise agreement with Microsoft. To do so you work with external Microsoft partners and consultants to stay ahead of upcoming features and best practices, ensuring Van Oord leverages the latest innovations within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
YOUR IMPACT
As a Microsoft 365 Consultant, you are responsible for:
- Managing the Microsoft 365 portfolio;
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into Microsoft 365 solutions;
- Act as a trusted advisor for our colleagues;
- Streamline Microsoft 365 related business processes and procedures;
- Inspire and enthuse colleagues about Microsoft 365 capabilities;
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the adoption and utilization of Microsoft 365 tools;
- Stay updated with the latest Microsoft 365 features and updates, and proactively suggest improvements;
In this role you are at the start of improving the Microsoft 365 platform capabilities. You are part of the IT teams that are responsible for the modern workplace and professional services.
YOUR WORKPLACE
The position is available within the IT customer experience and services department: a department operating in an international environment, with stakeholders all over the world. You will be working from our headquarters in Rotterdam with a beautiful view of the Maas. You also have the option to work hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days from home based on a full-time employment contract). In addition to occasional travel.

ABOUT YOU
To succeed in your role you have excellent social skills and strong presentation and communication abilities. You have an analytical mindset and are a continuous learner;
You have more than 4 years’ experience in a similar Microsoft 365 consulting role with deep knowledge of/ experience with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and other Microsoft collaboration products. Furthermore you acquire the following skills:
- You have at least a HBO (bachelor) work and thinking level;
- You are fluent in both Dutch and English;
- Microsoft certifications are a plus;
- have a technical foundation and know your way around getting disruptions and inquiries within Microsoft 365 resolved.
