For our DRI Financial Planning & Analysis team we are looking for a motivated MSc student with a background in Business Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering with focus on Finance and Economics or a similar education. THE POSITION 

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is a young team, established in September 2023 to enhance data-driven decision-making within the Business Unit. As an intern or working student you will be part of our financial organisation and work closely with a variety of departments within our business unit Dredging & Infrastructure. 

The team is responsible for providing valuable insights and advice for decision-making, assist in business development, collaborate on investment projects, and coordinate strategic processes like annual plans and long-term strategy. The team provides not only financial insights, but also collaborates closely with the HR, Commercial, Engineering and Operations departments to help them in their decision making. They also contribute in identifying and implementing performance improvement opportunities and play an important role in data analytics and digitalization efforts. You will support the team by developing (parts of) analyses, dashboards and/or business cases. 

YOUR IMPACT

As an intern or working student in our team, you will play an important role in:

  • Conducting detailed datal analysis and providing actionable insights to support decision-making processes;
  • Assisting in the development of business cases, contributing to investment evaluations and strategic projects;
  • Supporting in the collaboration with various departments including commercial, operational, and fleet management to align financial objectives with operational goals;
  • Contributing to the automation and streamlining of data gathering processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

ABOUT YOU 

To be successful in this position being a team player is essential, as is the ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate them effectively across different levels of the organisation. A strong interest in data analytics, data-driven approaches and improving performance is highly valued. Furthermore, you should possess the following qualities:

  • You are studying a MSc in Finance & Control / Business Economics, Business Administration, Engineering with focus on Finance and Economics or similar and are looking for a collaborative internship or job as working student to gain work experience;
  • You are an EU Citizen or have a valid study-work permit;  
  • You have affinity with the Maritime and/or Civil sector and are interested in an international work environment;
  • You have a good command of the English language, both verbally and writing; 
  • You have strong communication and social skills; 
  • You are eager-to-learn, curious and results-oriented.
