HSE Manager Offshore Wind

THE POSITION

As a Project HSE Manager at Van Oord, your core responsibility is to lead the charge in safety and environmental excellence within our Offshore Wind projects. You inspire and oversee the implementation of safety policies, proactively ensuring that they are followed by all project stakeholders, including subcontractors. 


YOUR IMPACT

Your role involves balancing project interests, providing guidance,  maintaining a safety-first culture and:

  • Drive continuous improvement in safety awareness and safety culture within projects, encouraging project management to take responsibility;
  • Ensure that safety policies, objectives, procedures, and plans are effectively communicated and adhered to by all project members and subcontractors;
  • Report on the safety performance of the project to management, addressing audit and inspection points, and taking measures to prevent recurrence;
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with supervisors, client HSE representatives, and your own HSE departments;
  • Manage and steer the Project HSE Team, depending on your experience.


These responsibilities collectively contribute to a comprehensive HSE management approach within the international projects.

ABOUT YOU

As a HSE Professional you will have the possibility to work all over the world. This will be in rotational shifts. Furthermore you have:

  • Relevant higher education in (civil) engineering, safety and security management, or business administration, with a preference for additional studies in higher safety education or change management;
  • Previous experience in a similar position involving complex projects, project management, or HSE;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Strong people management skills or a demonstrated potential for growth into a management role;
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, decisiveness, and outstanding communication skills.
