Deck Foreman Offshore Wind

You know your way around a vessel, and you're ready to take the lead. As Deck Foreman on board one of Van Oord's offshore vessels, you play a key role in delivering complex marine projects. With your sharp eye and practical mindset, you help shape resilient solutions that connect, protect and power the world.

THE POSITION

As Deck Foreman you’ll be responsible for leading the deck team on board. Your mission is to ensure that all deck operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with maritime, environmental and project-specific standards. You’ll support operational output while creating a positive, collaborative work culture.

YOUR IMPACT

In this role, your contribution directly supports safe and effective offshore construction. Your leadership ensures equipment is used optimally and your team knows exactly what to do, when and how. You’ll be trusted with key responsibilities such as:

  • Supervising deck crew and crane/tension operators during marine construction tasks;
  • Ensuring safe and compliant use of rigging, lifting and lay equipment;
  • Managing daily deck operations and equipment maintenance;
  • Leading toolbox talks and contributing to a strong safety culture;
  • Coordinating with the Master and Offshore Construction Manager to optimise operations.

YOUR WORKPLACE

You’ll work on board one of our advanced offshore vessels, sailing wherever the project takes you. Life offshore is dynamic, hands-on and always a team effort. At Van Oord, we take care of each other — whether you're on deck, on watch or off shift. You'll find a strong sense of pride, purpose and international camaraderie here. Together, we build the future of marine ingenuity.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a natural leader who thrives in a structured, high-impact setting. You enjoy working with your hands and your head, guiding others and solving technical challenges on the spot. You bring:

  • At least 3 years’ operational experience in a similar offshore role;
  • In-depth knowledge of rigging, lifting, pipe and cable laying equipment;
  • Familiarity with international maritime rules and safety systems;
  • Confidence in team communication, planning and hands-on coordination.

WE OFFER

At Van Oord, you won’t just do your job — you’ll be part of something bigger. We offer you the freedom to act, the trust to lead and the opportunity to grow. Join a crew where your work has real, global impact. You can count on:

  • A competitive salary in line with maritime market standards;
  • Time-on/time-off rotation system with travel arrangements covered;
  • Continuous learning and upskilling opportunities;
  • A close-knit, international team culture on board;
  • All the tools and support to take your next career step.
