THE POSITION

Digitalisation is one of the 3 Van Oord’s strategic themes. For implementing Van Oord-wide Data Governance framework, we are looking for someone who can help us. You will be working on the intersection between people, process and technology to uplift Van Oord’s data management capability. 

YOUR IMPACT

In the role as Data Governance Specialist, you have the unique opportunity to shape how Van Oord will implement data governance and have a direct contribution to the data driven transformation by: 

  • Communicating the value of data governance and the case for change at all levels within an organisation;
  • Preparing and publishing data management process and procedure in consultation with impacted stakeholders and key partners. Monitoring compliance and adjusting as necessary;
  • Onboarding staff into data ownership and stewardship roles, including staff training and development. Work together with data stewards and owners to ensure data risks are managed and data quality improves;
  • Supporting the development/acquisition and adoption of relevant data governance tools and technology to support best-practice data management;
  • Increasing the general data literacy level of the organisation.

ABOUT YOU

  • Great communication skills and the ability to motivate and influence stakeholders;
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, change management and staff training and development desirable;
  • Experience implementing and maintaining data governance and master data management software desirable; 
  • Bachelor/Master’s degree or work level experience; 
  • Minimum five years of experience in the field of data management and/or data governance;
  • Experience with implementing data governance and data management best practices;
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
