Located in Rotterdam, our IT department supports our global organisation in successfully executing our projects by delivering shared & enabling platform capabilities and technical infrastructure services, whilst ensuring continuity and cybersecurity of our services.


Our IT landscape is hybrid with cloud- and on-premises datacentres, offices and vessels across the globe. We are transforming our IT landscape to become more platform- and cloud-based (Microsoft-unless), in support of data- and or digital initiatives. We are also integrating an Agile approach in to our ITSM teams and adopt a customer-centric mindset. For the Customer Experience and Services team, part of the Rotterdam based IT organization, we are looking for a full-time Configuration manager. 


What do we expect from you?

As a Configuration manager you are responsible for managing, automating and executing the Configuration Management process in its entirety. The Configuration Manager contributes to developing policy and process, ensures that policy and process are adhered to, and guarantees the integrity of the data stored within the CMDB. You collaborate with the ServiceNow Product Owner and the ServiceNow Platform Owner to define the scope of the Configuration Management processes, what Configuration Items (CIs) are to be controlled, and the information that is to be recorded within the CMDB. 


Our IT delivery model is hybrid with platform teams working with Agile/Scrum and technical infrastructure teams working with ITSM/ITIL. Both ways of working are supported with different tooling. The challenge is to support the coexistence of these two models, and bridge the gap to deliver value for all teams.


Responsibilities:

•    Define the complete configuration item (CI) lifecycle and ensure that the configuration management tool (ServiceNow) manages lifecycle updates to reflect the status of a configuration item;

•    Own the design of the ServiceNow CMDB and its Common Service Data Model (CSDM);

•    Develop, implement, and communicate processes to track and update configuration items to oversee quality control throughout the CI lifecycle;

•    Responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating configuration management standards, processes, policies, and procedures; recommend updates based on experiences to streamline processes and improve efficiency of execution;

•    Oversees and performs configuration audits on a regular basis, identifying records with incorrect or outdated information, and coordinating with owners and support teams to remediate data inaccuracies;

•    Monitors health of the configuration management process and the CMDB, recommending process, design, or operational updates to reduce time and improve overall data quality;

•    Collaborate with IT Asset Management and other technology teams (i.e. Discovery) to design integrations and consolidate data from hardware discovery and asset repository systems, ensuring the CMDB has updated source data;

•    Design, implement, and socialize detailed configuration management reports and dashboards to show overall health of the CMDB and the IT infrastructure enterprise wide;

•    Collaborate with IT Software Asset Management in operational software asset management tasks, e.g., analysis of actual usage of software and harvesting of unused licenses / software;

•    Develops key performance indicators for the configuration management process. Produces reports to evaluate the performance of the process and institutes actions to alleviate shortcomings or streamline the process.




Qualifications:

•    Bachelor or Master degree or work level experience;

•    At least 5 years of experience working as a Configuration manager;

•    Knowledge of configuration and design of IT infrastructure systems within an enterprise environment;

•    Highly specialized knowledge of the ServiceNow CMDB, ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM);

•    Experience with ServiceNow ITSM platform and Discovery; ServiceNow Certified System Administrator preferred;

•    Strong knowledge of IT CMDB processes and procedures; ITIL (V4) certification preferred;

•    Automate everything in DNA; experience with automation and / integration of data sources to CMDB;

•    Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor;

•    Have an approach focused on people and collaboration.

•    Strong English (CEFR C1/C2) written and verbal communication & presentation skills. Dutch is preferred but is not mandatory.
