Campus Recruiter

Are you looking for a diverse role in a dynamic international environment? As campus recruiter, you will connect young talent with our organization!

The position

As campus recruiter, you will quickly get to know Van Oord inside and out. Together with your campus team, you are responsible for managing interns, trainees, graduates, and entry-level candidates across the entire organization. You will maintain a good balance between acting as a strategic partner and handling operational recruitment and selection. You ensure that young talent becomes excited about our organization and the career opportunities we offer. You know how to make us visible to talented students and connect them to our organization.

In our campus recruitment team, we have three campus recruiters and a part-time student assistant. Our team is part of the talent acquisition team, which consists of around 25 colleagues. Together, we manage the recruitment process for around 750 vacancies and 1,500 temporary staff members annually. In the coming year, we will focus on further professionalizing, building and securing knowledge about our organization and target groups, updating our labor market communication, and expanding our internationalization efforts.

Your impact

  • You are responsible for the recruitment and selection for traineeships, internships, and student job vacancies at Van Oord. This includes the entire process, from vacancy intake, identifying the target audience, promoting vacancies, conducting interviews, to requesting contracts. You work closely with your campus colleagues;
  • The recruitment and selection of the traineeship is one of the key peaks in your year;
  • In addition to attracting talent, you are also responsible for retaining it. Together with a project team from various disciplines, you ensure that interns and student employees receive optimal onboarding and the best guidance;
  • You organize and participate in events such as job fairs, in-house days, lunch lectures, and case studies, and you enjoy giving presentations;
  • You maintain contact and network with students, universities, student associations, and partner organizations;
  • You contribute to and actively participate in the further expansion of our campus strategy.

As the face of Van Oord for your target audience, you excel at inspiring others, and your communication skills are on point. You are naturally curious and keep an overview of your wide range of tasks. Additionally, you thrive on connecting the right people to our organization.

About you

  • You have a bachelor's or master's level of working and thinking, and preferably some experience in (campus) recruitment. For example, you might currently be working in a smaller organization and are looking for your next step;
  • Given the international nature of our organization, you speak and write Dutch and English fluently (and creatively).

We offer you

We offer you a position in which you will have an important contribution to our mission 'building a better world for future generations'. In addition, we offer you:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
  • Flexible in working hours; e.g. 24 up to 40 hours working week;
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2,15 per day);
  • 32 leave days per year;
  • Variable bonus;
  • Pension scheme;
  • Collective health insurance (optional);
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis;
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz;
  • You can join communities, like Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women and the Van Oord staff association;
  • We organise several (sport) events, e.g. winter sport, weekend of sailing, cycling and a motorcycle tour.
