As part of our digital transformation, Van Oord is looking to strengthen the BIM department to meet the growing demand for more efficient information management processes to support all stages our projects. Development of new and innovative ways to implement BIM uses in our projects to leverage information and ensure we add value to our projects is our main goals.

In this role you are responsible for setting goals, requirements and preconditions and preparing the BIM aspects in contracts and working agreements with the various cooperating parties in the project. Together with our BIM department, you will ensure the further development of this field in the projects. You actively contribute to the learning and change process in the project organization and the stakeholders involved in the field of information management.

Your Workplace

 

You will work within the Information & Modelling department, which consists of +/- 40 driven colleagues working in different business units and specialties. Besides the colleagues in the I&MD team, you will collaborate a lot with the colleagues you work with on your tender and/or project.

  • Together with the BIM Product Owner, you will develop the information management framework, processes, tools and systems for successful project delivery across Van Oord;
  • You will engage project partners, employees and other involved stakeholders in the transition to work BIM oriented;
  • Together with the project management team, you will shape the BIM ambition on projects and identify opportunities for BIM applications in tenders and MEAT documents;
  • You evaluate, improve and standardize (work) processes and applications within our project organization.
  • Creating support from the project team and other stakeholders by tailoring presentation forms to the target group and the setting;
  • Coordinating the different processes/workflows in the field of information management and modelling;
  • Develop, maintain and manage federated models and check the correctness and compliance to the agreements made in BIM execution plans;
  • Develop and maintain 4D simulation models to provide insight to the tender and project teams and improve our planning and phasing proposals.

About You

You are a first-class organizer who effortlessly brings people and models together for optimal project management. You have fulfilled the role of BIM Coordinator on previous projects.

  • At least a completed Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in a technical direction;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Living in the Netherlands;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing;
  • Experience with Navisworks, Infraworks, Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Synchro 4D (or similar 4D simulation tools)  is a plus;
  • An independent, proactive, accurate and analytically strong colleague who can organize well;
  • A communicative person who is result and collaboration oriented;
